TREND: monk strap shoes

TREND:
monk strap shoes
Tommy Ton

The identifiable characteristics of a monk strap is a shoe with quarters extending over the tongue, usually fastened with a strap and buckle. Neither a lace-up or a loafer, the monk-strap is eccentric in the way that it’s falls somewhere in between – certain monk-straps require the buckles to undone before you wear, while some can be slipped on easily like a loafer depending on their design. Therein lies the advantage of monk-straps in that they can straddle between the formal and the casual with quiet aplomb.
